We are living in the Reel Age that has trained us to stare at screens and pretend we don’t see other humans when we are out in public but what happens when the Wi-Fi cuts out and you’re stuck waiting for the bus?
Bus Stop Small Talk was an experimental social survival workshop designed to relearn the art of striking up a conversation with strangers. Participants were invited to SW Columbia & Park Ave Eastbound bus stop, to pretend to be passengers waiting for the bus and practice their conversation skills with each other. Using the golden ‘Yes, And’ method of improv theatre, Participants tried out fresh conversation starters, experimenting with the energy of shared space, and discovering the subtle art of reading a bus stop.
