This art project engages with the iconic symbolism of the three monkeys owned by Gandhi, universally recognized for embodying the principles of hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil. The work serves as a commentary on the contemporary context of rising hate crimes in India, where lynching have become disturbingly commonplace, with perpetrators often celebrated and rewarded by ruling politicians. The piece highlights the deliberate silence of the current majoritarian government in acknowledging these incidents, emphasizing the complicity, enabling and tacit approval of violence against religious minorities while addressing the urgent need for recognition and accountability.
